Just another image sharing network?

Yes indeed. But it is not the usual flickr stuff we share. If you search for images via our network, you will find out that these images are all 32 bit PNG files with transparency channel. That means that these pics are already cut out and ready to use for multimedia content of any kind (flyers or other kinds of artwork, mashups, prototypes, animations, website shugar,...). If you are a designer you will know for sure how to use these cutouts. In case you are not, here are some examples of artworks which were done using the/this cutout technique:

Game‘s rules

Although all pics are free for use there are some special rules:

• If you create an account you will get 100 bucks after registration - it is a kind of virtual currency. With those 100 bucks you will be able to "buy" images on the network. As soon as you have "bought" them you will be able to download the full resolution version.
• Everytime you upload an image you will get 10 bucks.
• Everytime another user „buys“ a pic of yours you will get 10 bucks.
• Images which are uploaded will be shared with others, some rights will stay with the creator but other users are allowed to use the images for their work, even for commercial purpose.

Nice idea, but what for?

clipr.net users believe in the way open source works. It is great that there are people willing to share their work with the whole world. It is amazing that some of these people don't even expect getting something in return, but a lot of people do.
